At Inspire we love a good cup of tea. It keeps us going throughout the day and is that much needed wake up boost in the morning and pick me up in the afternoons, especially when the chill of winter has settled in! There’s a huge variety of delectable tea flavours to satisfy almost any pallet on the market now, and happily many herbal teas in addition to tasting delicious, come with added health benefits. We thought we would compile a list of our favourite teas for winter and share them with you.
Peppermint tea is a firm favourite here in the office. Light and refreshing, peppermint tea can help aid a better digestive system, relieving symptoms of abdominal gas and bloating, and is also a great stress reliever. You can make peppermint tea by growing fresh peppermint leaves in your garden or check out some of our favourite tea brands Tea pig or Pukka tea!
Another tea known for its abilities to aid in digestion, ginger tea is the one to reach for if you need to stem feelings of nausea or an upset stomach. Our favourite is a lemon and ginger tea, perfect for warming you through and soothing a sore throat if you are feeling under the weather due to it’s powerful germ fighting combination. To brew your own cup, you can simply simmer a piece of ginger root in a saucepan for 10-15 minutes and then add fresh lemon juice.
A tea for reach for if you have trouble sleeping or winding down before you go to bed, chamomile tea is known for its calming and sedative properties. In order to get the full benefits and nutrients, be sure to steep it well for at least 5 minutes before drinking.
The perfect tea for winter and for boosting your general health and immune system, Rosehip tea comes from the fruit of the rose plant and is a great source of vitamin C. Sipping from this tea is hugely beneficial for your immune system and can help improve your skin and tissue health.
