January is now here and we all want to get in shape after indulging over the Christmas period. One of the best remedies to beating the January blues is to get up and get active, so here is our guide on how to start getting fitter and healthier.
1. Personal Training
Join our Personal Training sessions. If you are thinking of starting a fitness routine or going back to one, our sessions will definitely help you reach your goals. Our very experienced trainers – Samira, Chloe and Sara – will adapt the training sessions according to your fitness level and will help you reach a new milestone every week. The sessions take place in our private, fully equipped gym and are a mix of resistance, cardio and core training.
2. Get fit with friends
If you think exercising on your own is dull, then group training sessions are what you need. In our group training sessions, you and your friends can come in and train with a personal trainer. The groups can be made of up to 7 people. So, make a New Year resolution to start a new group activity and begin the journey towards a healthier lifestyle with your friends!
3. Set realistic targets
It is important to make your targets realistic and achievable. You don’t want to set the goals too high, because you’re only going to be disappointed when you are unable to reach them. Instead, reaching small goals constantly will help you successfully achieve your final goal in the end. So, for example, start by running once a week for a short distance and period of time. Then, you can increase the distance as you get stronger and more confident.
4. Food switch
Improve your diet by reducing sugary and processed foods. Eating too many saturated fats is likely to increase your cholesterol and your chances of gaining weight. We offer nutrition programmes which are individually tailored to your lifestyle and health goals. From the very beginning our Medical Director, dr. Essam, will assist you in improving your eating habits and setting achievable goals if you are thinking of losing weight. Dr. Essam will guide you in how you can switch processed foods with healthier options, while making sure that you get all the macro and micro nutrients you need from your diet.
Let’s make 2018 a healthier and happier new you!
